Ronny Paulusch Completes Harvard University's Higher Education Teaching Certificate Program with Excellent Results

Ideas on University Teaching Methods for Vocational Education and the Trades

Boston/Cambridge (U.S.), November 2025. Ronny Paulusch, a certified meat sommelier and entrepreneur, has successfully completed the prestigious Higher Education Teaching Certificate program at Harvard University with excellent results.

This makes him one of a small group of faculty members in the German-speaking world who hold this qualification in the field of university teaching development. The certificate is internationally recognized as a prestigious qualification in the fields of higher education pedagogy, learning psychology, curriculum development, and modern knowledge transfer. It is used by educators worldwide—including those at institutions such as Stanford, MIT, and Wharton—as a benchmark for contemporary teaching development.

The course, which lasted several months, was completed at the renowned Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning—Harvard University’s center for higher education pedagogy. It covered cutting-edge approaches to topics such as learning objective orientation, active teaching methods, formative and summative assessment formats, feedback systems, and inclusion.

Through intensive modules, peer reviews, and microteaching sessions, Paulusch explored the challenges of modern teaching and applied what he learned directly to his work in the food industry. “This program was more than just a certificate. Harvard showed me how teaching really works—when learning objectives, assignments, and feedback are clearly aligned, and when a practical focus is consistently at the center.”

Ronny Paulusch These new insights are immediately incorporated into the work of his company, M.E.A.T. GmbH, which specializes in continuing education, international field trips, and innovative teaching methods in the food industry. His experience at Harvard provides tangible added value, particularly for the training of young professionals and the professional development of existing skilled workers.

As his next step, Paulusch announces his new book project: “Didactics in the Trades—New Insights from Harvard,” which translates Harvard University’s academic didactics into the language of the trades—practical, applicable, and forward-looking.

The goal is to build bridges between international higher education and the needs of the skilled trades—just as Paulusch demonstrates in his field trips around the world.
