CONEXXUS® Teaching Methods

Qualifications and Decision-Making Authority

Use CONEXXUS® AIQKI. Take responsibility for your own decisions.

AIQ reveals how people interpret, apply, justify, and demonstrate AI-supported results in a professional context. It is not the technology that decides, but the person in the respective work context.

For the skilled trades, the food industry, the education sector, and organizations that want to responsibly integrate AI into real-world tasks.

What It's All About

Not an AI tool. An approach to sound decision-making.

CONEXXUS® AIQ was developed by Ronny Paulusch as a model for describing and assessing decision-making competence in the context of AI. It is neither software nor a course on how to use a specific provider's system.

AI can generate suggestions, alternatives, and results in a short amount of time. People decide what to accept, what to reject, and what the consequences will be. AIQ therefore focuses on the quality, rationale, and transparency of these decisions.

The bottom line: Speed can come from AI. Responsibility arises from human decision-making.

The Event

"When your fingers smell of oil and your minds are set on routine, artificial intelligence often seems far removed from reality. But the world is changing."
01

AI is already part of our work

Planning, analysis, communication, and knowledge management are changing. In companies, new applications are also emerging in the areas of documentation, cost estimation, training, process description, and complaint handling.

02

Responsibility must not become vague

Whenever product responsibility, hygiene, quality, leadership, or customer impact are involved, a plausibly worded output is not enough. The implementation and consequences must be professionally accounted for.

03

Knowledge of tools alone is not enough

What matters is not just whether a tool can be used. What matters is whether its purpose, limitations, sources, risks, and alternatives are identified and justified.

IQ, EQ, and AIQ

Three dimensions of expertise. A sphere of responsibility.

Select a dimension to highlight its role in the overall picture. All content remains immediately visible.

Change of Perspective

Don't just ask whether AI was used. Ask how the decision was made.

Output in the Foreground

The result seems plausible.

  • The focus is on the tool and its operation.
  • The output generated becomes the benchmark.
  • The AI component may remain implicit.

Focus on the Decision

The takeover becomes clear.

  • AI is used intentionally rather than automatically.
  • AI-generated content is clearly labeled.
  • The purpose, scope, and responsibilities are specified.
  • Decisions are based on technical grounds.
  • Practical clues mark the path.

AIQ is tool-independent and not tied to any single provider or specific technology. It complements existing continuing education, but does not replace it.

Traces of evidence

Four tracks make the decision-making process transparent.

The selection only changes the visual focus. The work sample, log, cross-check, and oral explanation remain fully legible.

01

Work Sample

What real-world problem was solved using AI?

A student’s own work sample applies the qualification to the specific professional field. It serves as the concrete starting point for documentation, assessment, and justification.

02

Transparency Log

What was adopted, incorporated, or rejected?

The tool, purpose, adoption, or rejection—and the respective reasons—are documented. This makes it clear at which point a person made a decision.

03

Cross-check

Which source, which risk, and which alternative were evaluated?

Professional judgment is demonstrated through cross-checking. A result is not accepted simply because it is formulated in a plausible manner.

04

Viva Moment

Can the decision that was made be justified in a way that is easy to understand?

A brief oral explanation combines the procedure, the subject-matter assessment, and the decision. The assessment process remains a guided reflection, not a traditional graded exam.

For Use in the Workplace

Organizations can document how AI is used and managed, who is responsible for a decision, and what accountability framework applies to roles or departments. Work samples, transparency logs, and cross-checks can support quality assurance, training documentation, and external inquiries. This does not automatically imply regulatory acceptance.

AIQ Level

From Reflective Practice to Core Competency.

The levels describe an increasing depth of understanding, ranging from perception to conscious application, structured processes, and responsible leadership. They are not titles awarded automatically.

Thoughtful Use of AI

Recognize opportunities, biases, and hallucinations; transparently label AI components; and consciously assess your own use of AI.

Original CONEXXUS® AIQ Level 2 Exploration Badge

Conscious Application

Work with variables in a targeted manner, perform cross-checks, and justify decisions based on technical expertise. AI is becoming a controllable tool in practice.

Original CONEXXUS® AIQ Badge Level 3 Integration

Structured Processes

Design, review, and revision are integrated into workflows as a quality loop. Reliability comes from routine carried out with accountability.

Original CONEXXUS® AIQ Badge Level 4+ Application / Mastery

Core Competency

Design complex workflows, reflect on professional and ethical boundaries, set standards, and take on responsibility in leadership and teaching.

The original historical badges illustrate the documented ranking system. They do not imply that the rank is currently being awarded or recognized.

EU Classification

Compatible with AI capabilities. No blanket legal guarantee.

CONEXXUS® AIQ is compatible with the AI competence framework outlined in the EU AI Regulation. Whether and how specific obligations are fulfilled depends on the specific context of use, the tasks involved, the risks, and the responsibilities.

Real-world work contexts, transparent documentation, verifiable formats for evidence, and concise justifications for decisions provide a practical foundation. AIQ is not a government, regulatory, or academic certification; it does not replace formal certifications; and it does not guarantee automatic compliance with legal requirements.

The Book

Didactics in the Skilled Trades as a Theoretical Specialization.

The book documents the model as a technical reference. It explores in depth the idea of understanding learning as a guided decision-making process, particularly in light of the uncertainty that AI results can generate.

This publication is not a prerequisite for AIQ and does not constitute external certification. It provides further insight into the pedagogical background.

Continuation of the Course

AIQ is the overarching track. The introductory course is a starting point.

CONEXXUS® AIQ

Training Through Real-World Tasks

AIQ combines classification, application, and audit trails. During a B2B discussion, the work context, participant roles, and the appropriate setup are clarified. No prior technical knowledge or programming skills are required.

Professional AI users, employees, managers, decision-makers, trainers, and instructors can be included in the training program.
